It's empty, though - no files!

mmmk, well i've tried to upload again through internet explorer...now when i drag and drop the files in to be uploaded I just get a box wanting to know if it should save it to disk or open it. Saving it just saves it to my computer again and opening it doesnt do anything but tell me that windows cannot open the file. So...what am i missing? I'd hate for a fairly uncommon show to be lost due to a silly glitch like this. Any feedback is appreciated.

Well, since the identifier (BHShalloween) isn't the right format for etree anyway, it would probably be easiest to start over at http://www.archive.org/create.php?lma=1

So you've opened an internet explorer FTP window. You've dragged your audio files into that window. And that's coming up as an error message? I'm sorry, but I've never seen that happen. Has anyone else?

You may want to try using an actual FTP program, like SmartFTP. That might help...

Yay! It worked!

So the item hadn't been checked back in yet (I did it for you), otherwise you would have been given this URL to continue the process.

http://www.archive.org/details/bhs1984-10-31.bhs1984-10-31_trackxx.flac

If you're using an FTP program, once you've uploaded the files you need to return to the checkout page (where you got the ftp server info) and click the "...check your item in by clicking on this link" link in step 4 of the "Using an FTP Client" section.

Once you do that, it will process your checkin and give you the link above.

From that link, choose the band collection from the etree dropdown and click the "Submit etree" button. Then on the next page add stuff like song titles, setlist, etc, and click the Submit button at the bottom of the page.

It will take about 20 minutes for the show to be live, and a few hours for us to make smaller derivative files from your flacs.

Thanks!

Alexis

Cool, hope I did everything else correctly, and most of all i hope this one gets up there in time. Any future posts i make should go much more smoothly. Thanks again for all the help and lemme know if there's any trouble. I bow before the archive and those who run it...cant thank you guys enough for what you've been providing to the world. I may be one voice among millions but at least you have MY thanks.

PEACE

Bill
